RESTORATIVE YOGA TEACHING IMMERSION
With Sarah Hyde and guest teacher Nicole Merat
April 8-11, 2027 at MindBodyHum
Join Sarah Hyde and guest instructor Nicole Merat for a deep dive into the healing art and practice of restorative yoga, a passive, meditative form of yoga that helps us tap into deep rest and relaxation.
Inspired by the postures of hatha yoga, restorative yoga involves resting with our bodies fully supported so that we can activate our parasympathetic nervous system and let go of stress and tension. In the process, we get to know ourselves better - and this is how we flourish; by stripping away the constant stimulation and distraction of the world, exploring stillness and connecting with our breath.
What you will learn:
Restorative yoga philosophy, benefits, cautions and trauma-informed approaches to teaching
Sequencing, propping, and cueing a restorative class
Lecture by Nicole Merat on sound and its use in a restorative class
Breath practices and mindfulness techniques to support your students
Finding your unique voice as a teacher and designing your classes
Beyond cueing: guiding your students’ inner journeys and the art of holding space
Schedule:
Thursday 4/8 from 5:45-9pm
Friday 4/9 from 9am-4:15pm
Saturday 4/10 from 11:15am to 6:30pm
Sunday 4/11 from 11:15am-6:30pm
